The mailbox behind Mr. Clouse bears his name, "J.C. Clouse". Plate reads "FIRST INDIANA RURAL FREE DELIVERY; BARTH. CO. - HAWCREEK TWP.; OCTOBER 15, 1896; MAIL HACK BUILT BY NELIGH-ALBRIGHT WORKS; JOE CLOUSE, ONE OF THE EARLY CARRIERS". It is signed by the artist Tim Carman.
